The StEP is a program of mentorship, scholarships, and workshops offered by the UMass Boston Venture Development Center to entrepreneurial students interested in careers in fast-growing companies. It is led by Dr. Shubhro Sen, VDC Executive Director & Assistant Vice Provost for Research.
Professor Sen has been a founder/CEO in 7 companies that he has led from ideation to market exits – IPO’s and acquisitions – over a 30+ year period. His second startup, Systems Re-engineering Research [later eCredit.com], based on translational academic became a Unicorn in 2000 and was acquired by the Internet Commerce Group. He also co-founded the Conscious Capitalism Institute and served as a trustee of Conscious Capitalism.
